Union Square Greenmarket started very small, with just a few farmers more than 50 years ago. Now, it is known around the world and welcomes more than 60,000 visitors and 140 farmers and artisans during peak times.
Visit Union Square Greenmarket Year Round
The market is open year round. It provides an electric atmosphere and a unique shopping experience. On a market day, you can feel it in the air. It’s the environment and the community of Union Square Greenmarket that makes it a favorite place to visit for locals and tourists alike.
This type of market is a great place to visit and support because it showcases the very best that the region has to offer. Most farmer’s markets are limited in their variety because of the season and growing cycles. This is not true for Union Square Greenmarket because the market hosts so many amazingly diverse vendors. This is what allows the market to thrive even during winter months when few farmer’s markets stay open.
