A Rugby Bar in NYC for Live Six Nations Matches
Early doors, Guinness on draft and the referee's mic turned up. East 14th Street is where New York's rugby crowd gathers.

Rugby comes first here
Plenty of places call themselves a rugby bar in NYC. Most of them mean there’s a TV somewhere. The Winslow is a British pub at 243 East 14th Street, and when a big match is on, the game runs the room: doors open early, pints are poured, and the sound is up so you can hear every call from the referee.
The crowd comes from all over. Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales, France and Italy, plus a healthy contingent from Australia, South Africa and New Zealand. Banter is expected. Manners are too.
The Guinness Six Nations is our busiest stretch of the year, and our Six Nations page has the house rules for those weekends. This page covers the rest of the rugby calendar.
The rugby we show
The Guinness Six Nations
February and March, every year. We open early for morning kickoffs and the sound stays on.
The Rugby World Cup
When the World Cup comes around, we open early for it too.
Autumn internationals
The November tests, when the southern hemisphere sides tour Europe.
Club and women's rugby
Select Premiership and Super Rugby matches, plus women's internationals.
Something more obscure
Ask the staff. We can often stream matches that aren't on regular TV, as long as they fall in our opening hours.

Breakfast, brunch and a proper pint
A 9 AM kickoff deserves better than coffee and a granola bar. For early matches the kitchen opens with the doors, so you can have a full plate from the brunch or regular menu before the anthems.
Behind the bar there’s Guinness, imported beers and over 40 gins for the second half, if that’s your style. And if the result goes the wrong way, we’re open late enough to talk it through.

New to rugby? Sit with us
You don’t need to know a ruck from a maul to enjoy a match here. Regulars are happy to explain the rules, usually at length, and the staff will point you to a seat with a good view.
Local players and supporters drop in too, so it’s a good place to ask about the New York rugby scene. And if your friends would rather watch American football, our sports bar shows plenty of that as well.
Rugby bar questions
What rugby do you show besides the Six Nations?
The Rugby World Cup, autumn internationals, select Premiership and Super Rugby matches, and women's internationals. If there's a match you're after, ask the staff.
Can you put on a match that isn't on regular TV?
Often, yes. We can stream a lot of rugby that isn't on cable. If it falls outside our opening hours, call 212-777-7717 well ahead and ask.
Is the kitchen open for early kickoffs?
Yes. For early matches the kitchen opens with the doors, serving brunch and the regular menu.
Can our rugby club or supporters' group book a space?
Outside the Six Nations, yes. The Back Room seats 18 to 20 for a $700 minimum spend, with no rental fee, and smaller areas start at $300. During the Six Nations every table is first come, first served.
I've never watched rugby. Will I be lost?
Not for long. Regulars and staff are happy to explain what's going on, and the atmosphere carries you even when the scrum doesn't make sense.
